Although digital is quickly and permanently changing the photographic industry, there are still many photographers who prefer the look of traditional photographic film. We carry a large selection of black and white and color films from Ilford and Kodak, including both 35mm and 120mm medium format films. ISO speeds ranging from 100 to 3200 are available. We do also carry a supply of 35mm color slide film as well. For those of you with specific needs, we can also order whatever you may have need for, including 4x5 film.
For those of you are using Holga or similar cameras, the 120mm film is what you need.
Photographic Chemicals
Black and White chemistry for your darkroom is available from Ilford, Kodak and Edwal. Film developers include Ilford Ilfosol 3 and Kodak D-76. Paper developers include Kodak Dektol, Ilford Multigrade liquid paper developer, and specialty developers such as Edwal Platinum II and Edwal Ultra Black. We carry both hardening and non-hardening fixers, and a variety of darkroom aids such as stop baths, Photo-Flo, Hypo-Eliminator and Hypo-Chek. For those of you stocking a school or institutional darkroom, we carry larger sizes as well.
Photographic Printing Paper
We are the only remaining store in the New Orleans area that still stocks traditional black and white photo paper. Because of our relationships with the college photography students, we carry a large supply of Ilford papers, including several styles and surfaces. These include resin-coated, fiberbase and even warmtoned fiberbase varieties, in sizes up to 16x20. (*Note: not all types of paper are stocked in every size. Please call and check for current availability.)
Darkroom Necessities and Accessories
Although doing your own developing and printing in a home darkroom is a dying art, we cater to those who still want to experience the thrill of creating your own photos step-by-step. We carry everything from developing tanks and reels, printing easels and chemical storage bottles to blotter books, focusing magnifiers, developing tongs, negative sleeves, print storage boxes and safelight bulbs. If you are looking for printing enlargers or timers, we can special order those for you as well.
